Dear residents,
It is indeed a pleasure to connect with you through our very own Yuhua web-page. As some of you may know, I was a resident in Yuhua many years ago. When my husband and I got married, we rented a flat here. Until now, we had sweet memories of Yuhua. I was therefore very excited to return to Yuhua and be elected as your MP.
Among us are many residents who have been staying here for more than 20 years, many of whom had moved from kampongs in Jurong, Bukit Batok and Clementi. Some of us are newer residents who are attracted by the convenient location and proximity to the Jurong or Tuas industrial area. Whether you are an old timer, or a new resident, or a foreigner renting a flat, YUHUA IS YOUR HOME. Whether you intend to stay here for the rest of you life because you friends are all here, or for a few years until you need a bigger flat for your growing family, or that you are only a tenant renting a room here, MAKE THIS YOUR HOME. MAKE THIS OUR HOME.
Yuhua has always been, and still is, a community with a strong kampong spirit and with folks who are sincere and good hearted. We can do our part to keep it that way. Treat the public area as if it is part of your house. Keep it clean, do not litter. Treat your neighbours with respect and courtesy, like they are part of your family. Treat your community as your extended family, where help can be extended when in need and support given when necessary. Not amount of cleaning, upgrading, or repair can make this an endearing home for us unless we treat this as our HOME. My wish for Yuhua is that it will always stay as the closely knitted, caring kampong in Jurong, and in Singapore.
